Cady DeLay

In Fall of 2019 I graduated from Stockton University with a BS in marine science and minor in studio art. I left my university with the ambition of conducting research that would change the world, but the world had its own plan. When covid hit, just like everyone else, all my plans were cancelled. I used this new “free time” to consider what I really wanted to do with my life. Though I love science, specifically marine invertebrates, drawing them is much more fun than researching them. Not only that, but it can be as educational as a scientific journal, while being more accessible. While in quarantine, I was lucky to find an internship with the Smithsonian as a scientific illustrator. Simply put, that experience felt right. Now in Fall 2021 I will attend my dream school CSU Monterey Bay in a scientific illustration program. This experience will pave the way for a fun, rewarding, impactful future that I previously though was only a fantasy. See more of Cady’s work here!
