Kristen Burroughs

I have always had a passion for science, animals, and art. During my undergraduate studies I took field ornithology, and it was easily one of my favorite courses. The first time I opened a copy of Peterson Field Guide to Birds, I realized how powerful a tool illustration could be for connecting readers to the natural world. I want to become a science illustrator because I want to promote conservation for wildlife. On my journey to become a science illustrator, I also hope to educate and inspire people to care about spooky animals such as bats and owls! When I’m not practicing art, I like to go bird watching (specifically for owls and other birds of prey) and help with local bat research! See more of Kristen’s work here!
