Anna Pedersen

I have never considered myself a typical artist. I love that art embodies more than just paint on a canvas, giving life to old things and communicating meaning and stories. It is my dream to focus my career on this -- integrating art into my passions for sustainability, the ocean, and protecting this planet. It wasn’t until I discovered the Science Illustration Certificate Program though, that I realized I could weave illustration into the environmental conservation sector that I have been dedicated to for the last 6 years, allowing me to create a unique path forward for the rest of my life and career. The world of Science Illustration opened up to me and changed my perspective on how I can engage with both science and art. When I envision my future, I dream of utilizing my creativity while working alongside scientists to foster deeper scientific understanding between the research community and the public.
