Campaign to Establish Art Tools Lending Library at College of Marin is a Huge Success
We are absolutely delighted to report that thanks to YOU we have raised nearly $5,500 for the new Art Tools Lending Library in the Fine Arts Dept. at College of Marin. These funds will enable the Fine Arts Dept to purchase and assemble tool kits that will be available for students to borrow while they are enrolled in a class. The Lending Library will greatly increase accessibility to art classes for students who are unable to meet the costs associated with the necessary supplies for most art classes.
Given that Marin County’s stark racial inequities are intertwined with the College’s ability to achieve its mission, the College strives to be a leader in promoting equity throughout the county. The Lending Library addresses directly the issue of equity in art classes and dovetails beautifully with the stated mission of College of Marin.
“Every semester I see students come through Fine Arts classes who struggle to pay for the items on our materials lists. Instructors currently work hard to help students in need to piece together materials in the first month. The Tentacles and Wings lending library will mean tools and materials will be ready to go on the first day for any student with a shortfall. This honors the motivation of all students who walk into our Fine Arts classrooms.” - Fine Arts Dept faculty member
Tentacles & Wings is very grateful for the support and generosity of our donors. We continue to be amazed by the community where we live and work. Please pass this along to anyone who might be interested in promoting equity in Marin County and helping students on their journey to a bigger, bolder life!
